Chairs

Chair frames are composed of solid wood rungs and rails. These are held together with mortise and tenon joints. The seats are made up of little sections and, due to their common usage are subject to the most strain but are also the most demanding objects to work on.

Their wood, full of woodworm, their broken frames and their many layers of successive upholstering create many problems for the restorer before he can even start to intervene!
